COLUMBUS, Ohio — Throughout her standout field hockey career at Ohio State, Bri Doak has accomplished plenty, including being named the squad’s top rookie in 2007. Now the former Seal can add another title: Captain.

Doak was named one of two captains by coach Anne Wilkinson for the Buckeyes’ 2010 season on Wednesday. The senior back is joined by junior Aisling Coyle, a captain for the second time.

A 2007 Selinsgrove alum, Doak has started every game in her career at Ohio State, 59 in a row entering her senior season. As a junior she helped the Buckeyes earn a Big Ten-best six shutouts, a year after they posted nine shutouts. Doak was named the team’s Rookie of the Year in 2007 after starting all 18 games.

Doak is also one of the Ohio State leaders in the classroom. She was an Academic All-Big Ten selection in each of the past two years and is a two-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honoree

Doak has been a leader for the Buckeyes in the classroom as well as a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (2008, 2009) and a two-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honoree.

A four-year starter at Selinsgrove, Doak was a three-time first-team all-state selection for coach Cathy Keiser’s Seals. She was a two-time Daily Item Player of the Year and helped lead Selinsgrove to district titles in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

She is joined on the Buckeyes by fellow Selinsgrove alum Danica Deckard, who will be a sophomore this season.
